Our music program is committed to bringing music that enriches our Sunday worship experience. We are more "vocal-centric" than "organ-centric," less performance oriented than participatory. To that end, our music director is one of Washington's top choral musicians. In addition to his work at Western, Tom Beveridge is the Musical Director of the National Men's Chorus and New Dominion Chorale. He is also a widely known composer of choral works.
Our goal is to have a congregation singing hymns joyously, with the choir leading us. For introits, anthems and offertories, the choir employs multicultural, sacred music from around the world.
There are no tryouts for the choir. It is a "you all come" group. Several section leaders provide leadership for those who want to sing in the choir. The choir rehearses on Sunday mornings prior to worship. If you are interested in joining the choir, please contact the church office at 202 835 8383.
