The Mission Committee meets monthly for most of the year to consider requests for assistance, maintain up-to-date information about the organizations receiving funds from Western, prepare the annual benevolence budget, and plan volunteer opportunities. The members (usually numbering about 10) also work in sub-groups corresponding to the types of programs supported by Western (e.g., Global, Environmental, Vulnerable Populations, etc.). The Committee welcomes suggestions for giving or activities from members and friends.
