Missions and Volunteering at Western

Our congregation is united by an enduring commitment to social justice and ministry to others. We invite you to learn more about Western’s mission programs and to take advantage of our volunteer opportunities.

Mission giving and participation at Western include a range of concerns of the congregation, and for convenience we have grouped our support into the following categories:

• PC(USA) - Giving to support to our denomination.
• Vulnerable Populations - Giving to aid those in need.
• Global - Giving to help those around the world.
• Environmental - Giving to sustain God's creation.
• Youth and Higher Education - Giving to support youth safety and learning.
• Volunteering - Opportunities to serve.

In selecting and evaluating projects or programs to assist, the Mission Committee considers these factors:

• Presbyterian connections: "Leveraging our Presbyterian connectionalism"
• Involvement of members
• Potential for fostering community within our congregation
• Ministries of service, of social justice/change, of evangelism
• Consistent with Western's systems of belief
