- The Food Bank in D.C.
- Gleaning at the Foggy Bottom Farmer's Market
- AIDS Walk, Walk for Literacy and Homeless Walkathon
- Trips to the Gulf Coast to rebuild after Katrina
- Planting and tending the Miriam's herb garden at Western Presbyterian
- Environmental cleanup projects in the D.C. area
- The Ethiopia Clinic
- Western is building a large clinic in Ethiopia. It will focus on the HIV/AIDS problem and pre and post natal care. We need individuals interested in developing the almost unlimited potential of the clinic.
Serve Within the Church
- Through the Worship Committee
- Flower committee arranges flowers for worship
- Usher
- Serve as a Sunday liturgist
- Throught the Education Committee
- Teach or assist in the children's Sunday school program
- Work with the children's music program
- Teach in the adult education program
- Throught the Deacons
- Visit people who cannot get to worship
- Visit people in the hospital
- Preapare and deliver meals to families with new born children, people recovering from surgery or otherwise in need
